Keynote Speech

Invited Speech Title

Design for the future user experience/ Expectations in tomorrow's world

The world is changing dramatically and rapidly, the introduction of innovative technologies has brought about new user interactions, changed behaviors, and induced new social activities. People now have a stronger desire for authentic and innovative user experiences.

In this paper, I will discuss four distinct types of possible future user experiences that have been discovered from research into user behaviors. Furthermore, I will discuss how designers can deliver these new user experiences for the future, through a strategic design process. 1. Physi-tal experience is using the human body as an input system to control computerized system or objects in digital world as an output. 2. Digi-log experience is combining of digital and analog technologies to deliver more familial interactions and experiences to the end users. 3. Info-matic experience is centered on data collection, composition, and communication from daily activities and applications in our environments and everyday lifestyle. 4. Hyper-reality experience is how we can enhance our real world experience with combing of virtual and augmented reality technologies.

Studies of these newly defined user experience types and behavior patterns will help us to understand better about human desires and our motivation, and assist us in making plans for evolution, revolution, and innovation. They also assist in finding paths in design approaches and in delivering future experiences.

About Chiang Mai

It is the capital of Chiang Mai Province, a former capital of the Kingdom of Lanna (1296–1768) and was the tributary Kingdom of Chiang Mai from 1774 until 1939. It is located 700 km north of Bangkok, among the highest mountains in the country. Chiang Mai means "new city"

While officially the city of Chiang Mai only covers most parts of the Mueang Chiang Mai district with a population of 160,000, the urban sprawl of the city now extends into several neighboring districts. This Chiang Mai Metropolitan Area has a population of nearly one million people, more than half the total of Chiang Mai Province.

In recent years, Chiang Mai has become an increasingly modern city and has been attracting over 5 million visitors each year, of which between 1.4 million and 2 million are foreign tourists (depending on the year).

DOI SUTHEP

Doi Suthep is a mountain located in Chiang Mai Province, Thailand. It is 1,676 metres tall The Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep temple is on top of the hill. This Buddhist place of worship dates back to the year 1383 when the first chedi was built. It is an important pilgrimage spot for the devout and a legend featuring a white elephant is connecteed to this revered site. There are spectacular views of Chiang Mai city and its surroundings from the top of this mountain.

The beautiful and rugged Mae Taeng Valley is situated in the North Eastern corner of the Chiang Mai Province. This area is home to large populations of domestic elephants and other wildlife. The Mae Taeng Valley contains lush jungles, local wildlife and encounters with exotic hill tribes

On elephant safari. We watching funny elephant show about one hour and then ride elephant half an hour. Your elephant will take you along the banks of the Mae Taeng River with its lush forests and inviting waters.

The tour also takes you on a ride in a traditional Thai Ox-cart. The ride can be a bit bumpy but fun. It will give you an idea of how the local population commute in this beautiful forested region and an experience in itself.

Another treat is a lazy trip on a bamboo raft down the Mae Taeng. It's relaxing and nostalgic. Plan on getting wet!

HILL TRIBE VILLAGES(Baan Tong Luang)

Baan Tong Luang is a fabricated village containing 4 separate Thai Hill Tribes. The Thai Hill Tribes at Baan Tong Luang are the Lahu, Hmong, White Karen and the Long necked Karen, also known as Padong or Paduang.

Baan Tong Luang has been laid out quite well, with a separate area for each of the different Hill Tribes. The village is divided by picturesque rice paddies and fields containing water buffalo, with several thatched roof huts in the distance. The road through the village is lined on both sides with thatched roof wooden huts, almost every one displaying for sale a wide variety of Hill Tribe embroidery, cloth, jewelry and many other items of uncertain ethnic origin which you can find at Chiang Mai’s Night Bazaar or walking streets at considerably lower prices. Each shop is staffed by girls wearing the appropriate, extremely beautiful Hill Tribe costumes, all of whom are trying, and mostly succeeding, to avoid looking bored as the constant stream of camera wielding visitors passes by. Dotted about throughout Baan Tong Luang are the occasional women demonstrating the traditional methods of weaving and spinning and one elderly man who is delighted to show off his considerable prowess with a hand made wooden crossbow.
